Angela’s Story

A highly self motivated, self made “beautypreneur” with 20 years of impeccable service and experience in the beauty industry. I inspire innovation while maintaining a “win-win” attitude and high integrity. My experience includes but not limited to retail sales, retail management , retail marketing, and promotion. My passion and focus is to build a beauty bar that is focused on the positive development in both the services that we provide and experienced advice that we provide. I pride myself in always maintaining a positive attitude and providing a welcoming atmosphere for my client.

Early life—born on a rainy early morning of April 1981, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I was the second born female to Odalis Dumé & Clara Lora. I absolutely love my parents and my country.

I remember as a little girl watching my mother every morning drink her coffee right before her day started. She would sit at the breakfast table with a Cover Girl black liquid eyeliner and perfectly trace her eyes giving herself the perfect winged liner, with no mirror. Wow. As a little girl who thought her mother was the most beautiful woman in the world, she left me memorized each time. From that moment, I fell in love with makeup. When I was 12, my mother opened a hair salon during the early 90s in Washington Heights, NYC. I learned to use a register, assisted in hair washing and the day to day operation of running a salon. I was also taught how to grow herbs and plants that we would grind into small amounts, add to a hair oil and onto our hair. At a very young age, I develop a love for organic and sustainable products. This was the best time of my life! I loved the energy and how happy woman would feel after getting their hair and makeup done. I love “the girl talk” the stories and experience that last a lifetime. This was when I knew, I wanted to be a salon owner.

After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Marketing & Management in 2001 and completing an extensive 9 month Fashion Internship Program with Neiman Marcus right after, this opened many opportunities that lead me to obtain an excellent track record at major retailers such as: Nordstrom, Bluemercury, Space NK London, Bloomingdales. I trained, developed and managed staff. The training and knowledge I gained and amazing motivated peers that I’ve met along the way are all part of my development today. I’ve developed a reputation of consistent success in major retailers and peers. But I deeply yearned to own my own beauty lounge some day.

After meeting my life partner and him supporting my vision, we took the ultimate leap to starting this amazing journey in creating a Beauty Bar that encapsulates all of my ideas and beliefs for client satisfaction. After facing some challenging moments, we are excited to announce Pout Wink Glow Beauty Bar is in its completed phase and we are ready to begin this journey. I look forward to meeting you some day.
